Balaton, Beer, and Boats

Today we went to Lake Balaton, which is the largest freshwater lake in Central Europe and is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful places I've ever seen. Lake Balaton is one of Hungary's largest tourist attractions, and it's not difficult to see why! We enjoyed the day in the sun with some sightseeing, following by paddle boating, and cooling refreshments of course.

Successfully Got My Residency Permit Today

We went to the Immigration office today to apply for our residency permits, and I passed with flying colors! It was a tedious process, but I'm happy I can legally enjoy this country for the next couple of months.

This Little Piggy Went to the Market

Today we went to a Market by our University. Now when I say Market, I am not talking about a tiny place. This has to be the  biggest market you've ever been to. The place has to be over a square mile, filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, breads (nom), you name it! The best part? It's unbelievably cheap. I could get used to this lifestyle.

Yesterday we took a walk to Hero Square, which is ridiculously close to my apartment. Then we took a night walk around Parliament. I've never seen anything more beautiful. I am so in love with this place.

The building down the street from my apartment building caught fire last month, but it's still absolutely beautiful.

Buda

Yesterday we ventured into the Buda part of the city, and it was absolutely beautiful. Here are some photos I took while walking around.

Made it to Budapest!

Made it to Budapest safe and sound! The flight was a long one, but some wine and good friends helped me get through it. Budapest is more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. All settled into my apartment. Thankfully, I have my own room and my own bathroom. Our neighborhood is homey and seems like something out of a fairy tale. I might never leave <3

Leaving....tomorrow?

When did that happen? The summer has gone by so quickly. Although I have been dealing with panic attacks thinking about my departure tomorrow, I am also incredibly excited as I prepare for takeoff. I should probably finish packing now...ah typical Taylor with her procrastination.
